Using Miles

As a frequent flyer of Royal Brunei Airlines, you can use your miles for:

Flight Awards

For a Flight Award, a member redeems miles for a free roundtrip ticket between cities within Royal Brunei Airlines’ network. A member must ensure that enough miles are available in the account before redeeming any type of awards.

Upgrade Awards

For Upgrade Award, a member must already purchase an eligible ticket either from the Royal Brunei office, GSA or travel agents, before redeeming an upgrade award. Upgrade awards are based on one-way, so if a member wants to redeem an upgrade award for a return journey, the miles deducted will be double of the miles required. However, upgrade awards can only be requested at Royal Brunei Airlines’ offices.


Royal Skies now offers additional benefits to its Royal Skies members by allowing redemption of miles for extra baggage allowance. No voucher is required to claim for your extra baggage allowance. Don’t exactly know how much extra baggage weight you’ll be checking in?

It’s easy with the Royal Skies Extra Baggage Allowance award, as the mileage required for redemption is based on one-way travel on blocks of 10 kilograms.

Allowance of extra baggage is limited per flight, so do book your award in advance to avoid disappointment.

To Redeem for Extra Baggage Allowance

1.
Refer to the Extra Baggage Allowance Award Calculator to determine how many miles are required for your desired award.
2.
Ensure that you have sufficient miles in your account for the award of your choice.
3.
You must allow at least five (5) working days prior to departure to request for extra baggage allowance award.
4.
Call or visit a Royal Brunei Airlines office near you or simply complete the ‘Extra Baggage Allowance Award Request’ form available here and fax it to +673 222 2211.
5.
No Vouchers will be issued, as your extra baggage allowance will be automatically stated in your booking itinerary.


Conditions for Extra Baggage Allowance

1.
Redemption for extra baggage allowance can only be issued to the travelling Royal Skies member on Royal Brunei Airlines flights only.
2.
Extra baggage allowance award cannot be redeemed for another traveller.
3.

A minimum of 10 kilograms and maximum of 100 kilograms is allowed for redemption. Additional weight will be charged as normal access baggage charges.

Additional T&C:
A total maximum of 100 kilograms is allowed for redemption per flight. Extra Baggage Awards may not be available on all flights at all times. Extra Bagagge Allowance may still be available for sale, but not available for Royal Skies redemption. Members are advised to book well in advance for popular destinations and/or for peak season travel.

Maximum weight allowed is 32 kilograms per baggage.
5.
Award redemption for extra baggage allowance is based on blocks of 10kg.
6.
Mileage redemption for baggage allowance is based on one-way travel on all Royal Brunei Airlines marketed and operated flights.
7.
Extra baggage allowance cannot be redeemed on code share flights.
8.
Redemption rate is the same for all classes of travel.
9.
Partially or wholly unused redemption for extra baggage allowance is non-refundable, non-transferable and cannot be re-deposited or re-instated.

Changes in flight sectors due to other than Royal Brunei Airlines operational requirements will require that the member request for a new redemption according to the new sectors. Please check the Baggage Allowance Award Calculator for the new mileage requirement.

Changes in date of departures for the same itinerary do not require the member to request for a new redemption.

To Redeem for Sky Lounge Access Awards

1.
Royal Skies members may purchase invitations for friends, business associates or family members (Redemption Group Nomination) to enjoy the comfort of Sky Lounge at Brunei International Airport.
2. One (1) Sky Lounge Access Award will require 5,000 miles
3. Ensure that you have sufficient miles in your account for the award of your choice.
4. You must allow at least five (5) working days prior to departure to request for Sky Lounge Access Award.
5. Call or visit a Royal Brunei Airlines office near you or simply complete the ‘Sky Lounge Access Awards Request’ form available on http://Royalskies.bruneiar.com and fax it to +673 222 2211.
6.
No Vouchers will be issued, as your Sky Lounge Access Awards will be automatically stated in your booking itinerary.

Conditions for Sky Lounge Access Award

Redemption for Sky Lounge Access Award can only be issued to the travelling Royal Skies member on Royal Brunei Airlines flights only..

Sky Lounge Access Award can be redeemed for your nominees only (Redemption Group Nomination).
3.
A minimum of 1 access and maximum of 5 access is allowed for redemption.

Mileage redemption for Sky Lounge Access Award is based on one-way travel on all Royal Brunei Airlines marketed and operated flights.
5.
Sky Lounge Access Award cannot be redeemed on code share flights.
